We are Mission!  As the people of God we submit our lives to the mission of God. God calls us to Himself by faith in Jesus Christ and God sends us with the message of the gospel. It is with joyful obedience to God that Christ Freedom Church commits a month to intentionally living out 'mission as identity'

Month of Mission Flow

Each week, we will emphasize a particular missional habit to weave into our weekly routines, helping us grow in living out our missional identity.

The five habits we will focus on are:

  • Blessing Others

  • Eating with Others

  • Listening to the Holy Spirit

  • Learning about Jesus

  • Submitting to our Sent Identity

Schedule & Events

  • This week we will lean into the habit of blessing others as one way to live out our missional identity. The smallest act of kindness, word of encouragement, thoughtful gift, or prayer over a discouraged person can have a great kingdom impact. Let’s be a people who regularly bless others and point to Jesus, our Savior, who has generously blessed us.

    Challenge:
Bless two people this week (someone inside & outside the church) and give God the glory

Nursing Home Visit - Tues, 7/2

  • This week we will lean into the habit of hospitality as one way to live out our missional identity. Just as Jesus used a meal to break down relational barriers and share His love, we too can introduce others to Jesus around the table!

Challenge: Share a meal or coffee this week with someone outside of the church and listen to the Holy Spirit’s promptings to share truth with them as he leads.

Matthew Party (Swim & Game Night) - Fri, 7/12

Modeled after Jesus’ visit to Matthew’s house in Scripture, a ‘Matthew Party’ is an event designed to bring Christians and unchurched individuals together for fun and camaraderie. The aim is to cultivate an inviting space where meaningful relationships can develop, potentially leading the unchurched to encounters with Jesus beyond the party.

While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and 'sinners'?” On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners” (Matthew 9:10-13)

  • This week, we will embrace the habit of listening to the Holy Spirit and learning more about Jesus. To live a life deeply rooted in Christ, where our missional identity joyfully thrives, we must nurture regular rhythms of prayer and time in the Word during our week. From this foundation of abiding in Christ, he accomplishes his mission through us!

Challenge: We have often used this language when processing being used by God, “God, Vessel me!” Meaning we desire to be used by God for the purpose of God. Practice listening to the Holy Spirit’s leading by praying this prayer every time you walk into a change of environment. As we hear and are prompted by God, let us follow through with the way we sense him leading

Splash Pad Outing - Wed, 7/17

  • This week, we will be mindful of how we embody our Sent Identity in Christ. We believe that God has called us to himself and sent us forth with the gospel message, to visibly reflect his character and heart to the world. Remember, each act of goodness, each word of justice, and each moment of reconciliation not only honors God but also brings his kingdom closer to those around us. As we learn to recognize how our daily words and actions reveal Christ’s reign, we will increasingly embrace our missional identity as those sent by Christ.

Challenge: Spend time journaling how your words or actions during the week have pointed others to the goodness of God. Consider how these interactions have enabled you to live out your missional identity and point others to Christ.
